Pork back in stock

We love meat!

As planned, we have most major pork cuts back in stock! We got so much pork that we had to expand the chest freezer farm, once again raising the question: “how many chest freezers is it reasonable to own?” We hope the answer is more than eleven. Over the winter and spring we ran out of many cuts of pork but we now have chops, roasts, country style ribs, chorizo, kielbasa and many others available. Goat meat will be available in mid-June.

New flour for biscuits and pasta!

Besides lots of meat, we’re also making our own biscuits and egg pasta.

The pasta is made with just three ingredients: our delicious BOTL Farm eggs and two kinds of flour. We’re using locally grown, locally milled flour from Ground Up in MA. The pasta is frozen in half pound packages, and we recently spent some quality time in the commercial kitchen whipping up over one hundred packages for you to enjoy!

We’ve been making our biscuit recipe since last year, but now we’re using the new Ground Up flour in the biscuits as well.

Do you spend a lot of time deciding what to wear each morning? This problem will always be challenging, but one way to minimize the difficulty is to buy more clothes! We’ve been wearing Prana clothing for years on the farm, and we find it to be comfortable and durable even in the gritty conditions of our day-to-day work in the fields. The clothes also perform great when wet and have outlasted any other brands we’ve tried.

We’re glad to announce that BOTL Farm has teamed up with Prana to offer BOTL Farm branded Prana clothing. Our first run will be summer-ready short sleeve shirts. All are hand-stamped with our BOTL Farm logo and are machine washable.

If you’re interested, the shirt style is Prospect Heights Crew and you can pre-order by emailing us.

Egg price increase

Our eggs have increased from 50 cents per egg to 60 cents per egg. This is our first price increase since we started our chicken flock in 2018 and our feed prices have gone up considerably since then. We don’t want to compromise on using a cheaper, lower quality feed, and so instead we’ve made the difficult decision to raise our prices. The resulting product is the same great soy-free, corn-free eggs from our Animal Welfare Approved, pasture-raised flock that you’ve come to know and love.

If you bring your own carton, the new price for eggs is $7 per dozen.

If you don’t have cartons, part of the price increase is offset by decreasing packaging costs for cartons (thanks to our AWA certifying agency), so our carton price for a dozen eggs has increased to $7.50.

farmers market

Sturbridge this weekend and other markets

Our first market in Sturbridge, MA for the 2022 season is this weekend. We’ll be there and we look forward to seeing you too! It’s Sunday from 9am to 1pm, rain or shine.

The every-other week schedule at markets can be confusing, so we have each date we’ll be at each market listed on the Find Us page of our website. A good reference so you can be sure to catch us before you head out for market shopping!

New Country Organics animal feed/bedding

As New Country Organics feed resellers, we routinely stock corn-free layer and classic layer. But if you need chicken feed, you probably need chicken bedding too.

After trying a few types of bedding over the years, we like and use hemp bedding. It’s compressed chopped stalk bits of industrial field hemp and we find it to be more absorbent and longer-lasting than pine shavings or other bedding alternatives. We try to keep it in stock and on-hand, so we may have it available for sale if you’d like to try some.
