Pork is back

After a long wait, our pork is finally back in stock. We got our first supply back from the butcher late last week — it’s inventoried and our online store is up to date.

We have an assortment of bacon and hams, along with shoulder roasts, loin roasts, ground, chorizo sausage (loose), and ribs. We expect our second pickup of pork by the end of the week where we will add to the list fresh belly, chops, hot Italian sausage (loose) and kabob.

Once our second batch of pork is back we will be offering our meat boxes again.

Eggs and stew hens

Our new flock of laying hens have been steadily increasing their egg laying over the past month or so and we are happy to say they are in full production now. We have plenty of eggs and the honor box is back open. Remember to bring your own container to help save the world and save money.

On that note, we have retired our old flock of hens. They have lived out a full life on pasture and are now ready for your stew pot. Stew hens are $6/lb.

AWA Certified

In case you missed it, we were recently Animal Welfare Approved (AWA) and certified Grass Fed by A Greener World (AGW) for our sheep and goats! This is very exciting for us, as we have literally built our farm based upon our commitment to humane treatment of our animals and giving them the opportunity to express natural behaviors. Our certification speaks to this commitment and we are so proud to be a part of AWA!

We are working on the last few requirements for our pigs and chickens and hope to have this certification for them as well by this summer. For more info the see AGW press release.

Website update

We recently realized that our website was significantly out of date. Large portions of it had not been updated since we started the farm years ago, so we spent the last few snowy days to rewriting the whole thing. If you have a few minutes check it out, and as always if you have lots of time and are looking for a few laughs check out our blog.
