Lamb, goat and mutton back in stock

The long wait is over. Our lamb, goat and mutton are finally back from the butcher! We have a selection of cuts available including assorted chops, leg roasts, ribs, and ground. We also have all the odd stuff like heads, bones, kidney, heart, tongue, and everyone’s favorite…testicles. We also have lamb bone broth for all your soup and broth needs.

Quantity is limited, especially on the goat and mutton, so stock up early. If you miss it now there will be another batch in early summer of more goat and lamb.

AWA approval for eggs/pork

Everything on our farm is now Animal Welfare Approved (AWA) by A Greener World. As of the middle of the summer, we got our final sign-off for our pork and eggs. The goat and sheep have been AWA and Certified Grass Fed since the end of 2020. This is super exciting for us and we're proud to be part of esteemed group of certified farms.

Eggs

Thank you all for being great customers and keeping us sold out of eggs all summer. Thank you even more for being patient as we work through growing pains, develop our waiting lists, and get as many people eggs as fairly as possible. We see the demand and are working on doubling our flock size. We currently have another batch of 13-week-old chicks on the ground and we should start seeing pullet eggs* from them in January.

*Pullet eggs are small eggs that the chickens lay when they first start to come into production. They start out really small and over a few weeks they become full size. Typically the yolk size on these eggs are huge compared to the whites so bakers really enjoy working with them. As the new hens start to figure out how to lay eggs, they sometimes make eggs that are double yolkers. Kids really enjoy these odd size eggs. The pricing on these pullet eggs will change weekly. By weight the eggs are the same price as our normal eggs. We will adjust the weekly price of eggs based on the average weight of a dozen pullet eggs until they are full size.

On farm market

There is only one more farmers market weekend left this year. We will be at the final Tolland market Saturday Nov 20th and the final Assawaga market Sunday Nov 21st (both markets end the weekend before Thanksgiving). Until next year you will have to come to our farm for products over winter. We have started a farm market Tuesdays from noon-2pm and Sundays from 2-4pm. We started these markets 2 months ago and will run all winter long. We encourage you to pre order what you want beforehand to minimize the time you are waiting around while we pack your order (and to make sure we have it in stock), but feel free to just stop in during our open hours. Please check our shared calendar on the bottom of our contact page or social media in case we need to cancel a particular market for any reason.

NCO feed change prices

New Country Organics is changing the size and price of a good amount of their products. A lot of the specialty products are moving to 40 lb bags, and they have also updated pricing on most of the products. Good news is our two stocked items (classic layer and corn free layer) have not changed pricing or bag size yet. We will do our best to keep our regular feed customers up to date with any changes we see, but most changes that NCO has made have been without warning.

Remember if you are looking for other products besides the two layer feeds we stock we can get it ordered on our frequent deliveries. We place orders typically every three weeks so we can usually get you new products fairly quickly.
